We are building a community of practice to support leadership transitions.

We are building an online community for funders and other philanthropic leaders to connect, share resources, and map and build on an ecosystem to support nonprofit leadership transitions, particularly those involving leaders of color.

The Leading Forward Community of Practice is a collaborative group dedicated to advancing support for nonprofit leadership transitions. This community brings together funders and other philanthropic leaders who are committed to fostering equitable practices to better support nonprofits during a leadership transition process.

Key Objectives

  1. Collaborative Learning: We host quarterly meetings and workshops to create opportunities for shared learning and support.

  2. Peer Support: Group members are invited to our private Google Group where members can ask questions or seek support with challenging issues related to supporting grantee partners before, during, and after leadership transitions.

  3. Resource Sharing: Provide access to curated resources (toolkits, reports, articles) for funders to inform their grantmaking approach.

  4. Advocacy: Amplify the importance of investing in leadership transitions as a critical component of nonprofit capacity building and sustainability.
